My name is Wesley Osborne and I was born and raised in Lahaina, Maui. I fell in love with filmmaking at nine years old when I picked up my parents’ Sharp 8mm Viewcam camcorder and started making home movies with my friends. My passion continued into high school where I also developed a love for sports videography and shot football, basketball and water polo games. By the time I turned 17, I was making comedy skits for school projects and spending the majority of my senior year shooting and directing my first feature length film called Soulfingers. I graduated from Lahainaluna High School in 2009.

After high school, I stayed on Maui and began uploading comedy sketches I made with friends on YouTube under the channel “HaoleBoyProductionz”. After a decade or so of sporadically making videos, I finally began pursuing videography and filmmaking on a professional level in 2022. For the past two years, I’ve worked in various production crew roles on film and commercial sets, including work as a 1st Assistant Director on a feature film. I’ve also shot and directed promotional videos for local businesses and recording artists on Maui. I formed Hi8 Productions in 2024.

When I’m not doing videography work, I enjoy directing short films and making comedy sketches for fun. I love spending time with friends at the beach, playing basketball, traveling, and hitting up Cool Cat Cafe Maui (RIP Lahaina location) for a burger and then going to the movie theater next door.
